The Society encourages all members to participate in the life of the society by taking an active role on a committee. If you are interested, please contact the committees for further information.
Vision and Visibility
This is a presidential committee. The role of this committee is to evaluate adherence to the society mission/vision, spearhead new initiatives in line with the vision, and increase visibility of the society. This committee also conducts research/assessment of how FIT’NG fits within the broader context of academic societies and develop new relationships and maintain/strengthen existing relationships with stakeholders in order to increase the Society’s outreach and support its initiatives.

Communications Committee
The committee serves to coordinate communications between FIT’NG, its membership, and the public on matters central to the Society’s vision and mission. The committee advises the board on developing and executing a communication strategy consistent with the Society’s values and priority goals as well as administering and overseeing the website and other Society related electronic/print communications including social media and listerv.

Trainee Committee
The Trainee Committee represents the postdocs and students of FIT’NG. Its goals are to organize professional development activities for students and postdocs, ad-hoc networking opportunities based on research interests, and international collaborations between trainees. The committee manages FIT’NG Together events.

Scholarly Works Committee
The role of this committee is to spearhead and/or facilitate the realization and dissemination of scholarly works (i.e., collaborative papers, book chapters, symposia/presentations, and other forms of scientific communication) that advance the FIT’NG mission and vision. We also work closely with FIT’NG members to seek grant funding (for example, NIH training-related programs) for FIT’NG initiatives.
